What Fox News, Rush Limbaugh and talk radio offer. It's a vehicle through which old, retired white men who have Medicare, Social Security, a McMansion, an RV, a nice power boat and oodles and oodles of guns can express their rage at the fact that these liberals, black people, illegal immigrants, gays and women have robbed them of something or other they can never quite specify.Or, as one wag put it, "The hell I'm going to let some black president help pay for my dialysis!"
Republicans, having lost their status as the party of business, have become the party of incoherent rage. It is difficult to imagine anything good coming from a system that moderates the will of corporations with the fantasies of hysterics.
