And when the Republicans and complicit Democrats have succeeded in
destroying the social safety net and all American unions, and reducing the
American standard of living to third-world subsistence with no benefits, just
who will drive America's "consumer economy?" No one. It will be dead,
along with the great American middle class. And without a broad middle class, no
democratic republic can survive. PERIOD. End of the American story.

Fact. It's What's for Dinner
The ideal subject of totalitarian rule is not the convinced
Nazi or the convinced Communist, but people for whom the distinction between
fact and fiction (i.e., the reality of experience) and the distinction between
true and false (i.e., the standards of thought) no longer exist.
— Hannah Arendt
Truth Isn't a Matter of Position. It's a Matter of Facts.
Snug in the angry vacuum of their corporate media echo chamber, contemporary American right wingers are accustomed to functioning without facts. When they are confronted
by the evidence that they don't have any facts, they get that same strange look Wile E.
Coyote has after he confidently steps off the cliff into thin air.

When Not to Waste Your Breath
By Dan Hagen
Right wing trolls always seem to think that you work for
them, and are always demanding that you supply them a variety of carefully
researched answers that they will reject out of hand if you were to be so
foolish as to bother to answer them. I like to remind them to shove all that up
their ass.
I don't write for — or answer — the trolls, or anyone else
who refuses to be convinced by evidence. I write for the public.
Aristotle said you should always speak the truth, except
when speaking in irony to the vulgar. I take that to mean that telling them the
truth would be a waste, because they are too ignorant or stubbornly arrogant to
grasp it.

How Dare You Quote Me Accurately, Sir?
Right wingers, being power-drunk, always seek the ultimate power, which is to erase their own previous statements and actions.
The power to change the past, which not even the gods possess. Well, a megalomaniac can always dream.
Now even Laura Bush aspires to that power.
