Actor John Malkovich reportedly just saved the life of an elderly man who tripped on a curb, cut his neck on scaffolding and was bleeding
profusely.
Malkovich is from Benton, IL, and an alum of my school,
Eastern Illinois University. I interviewed him when he wowed New York in
"True West,” and he recalled then how much admired the motto of the Daily
Eastern News: "Tell the Truth and Don't Be Afraid."
