Look, up in the sky... Superman is sighted, and it's about damn time. We could certainly use his help.Jeffrey Lang and Patrick Trimble wrote, "The American monomyth secularizes Judeo-Christian ideals by combining the selfless individual who sacrifices himself for others and the zealous crusader who destroys evil. This super-savior replaces the Christ figures whose credibility has been eroded by scientific rationalism, but at the same time reflects a hope of divinity and redemption."
