Caped Wonder Stuns City

Look, up in the sky... Superman is sighted, and it's about damn time. We could certainly use his help.
Jeffrey Lang and Patrick Trimble wrote, "The American monomyth secularizes Judeo-Christian ideals by combining the selfless individual who sacrifices himself for others and the zealous crusader who destroys evil. This super-savior replaces the Christ figures whose credibility has been eroded by scientific rationalism, but at the same time reflects a hope of divinity and redemption."
And here, the Guardian examines Superman's seemingly eternal popularity.
