Tinkerbell's Light Dies

The Republicans on the DC playground dared Obama to stick his tongue on the third rail.
And he did it.

By Dan Hagen
This backstabbing blow — voluntarily delivered just after he’s been reelected and on top of his horrifying record on civil liberties and his attorney general’s abject whoring for the Wall Street banks — convinces me that he is, finally, just another unprincipled Chicago politician.
Thanks to Obama, in a time of continuing high unemployment, both political parties are now on record as wanting to cut the threadbare American social safety net. My interest in Obama has been reduced to zero.
But Obama’s true believers are still out there in the dark, clapping furiously to keep Tinkerbell alive.
Ordinary Americans will have to come to grips with the fact that almost no one in Washington or the corporate media will stand up for them. They will have to do it for themselves, in the streets, if it is to be done.
