Unless they happen to be giggling about the idea of shooting someone, American right wingers are remarkably humor-challenged. It's one of the things that makes their constant barking so tedious, and underlines their bizarre lack of emotional balance.
"Humor is the only test of gravity," Aristotle said, "and gravity of humor; for a subject that will not bear raillery is suspicious, and a jest that will not bear serious examination is false wit."
