Down the News Memory Hole

By Dan Hagen
Funny. No one remembers how Time magazine, the Chicago Tribune and the New York Times cheered for the fascist dictator Benito Mussolini just prior to that, ahem, “little unpleasantness of the 1940s.”
The murderous Il Duce was swooningly compared to George Washington in the major American press.
Maybe nobody remembers because it's never, ever mentioned in Time magazine, the Chicago Tribune or the New York Times.
